CAS Apple Tree

This week's SCS CAS Challenge is a theme - Apples!   I went with a tree and added some apples to create a fall card.

Ingredients:   PTI stamps and YNS Stitched Rectangle dies
Quite a simple layout with lots of cream surrounding the tree.  I hand drew in the grass and added some layers with the embossed rectangles.

Apples are delish, how will you interpret the challenge?

Julie

Celebrate Summer

Are you celebrating the last weeks of summer?  Or is it a different season where you are?

All summer long I have been drawn to warm, sunny colors so I thought it only appropriate to share this card with you today that I made for the DTGD challenges.
The flowers were die cut using the flower from YNS's Clip It Die Set and a YNS gumdrop placed in the center of each.  The sentiment is from PTI.
CAS sunshine!

Have a wonderful day!

Julie

More Banners

I have more cards to share today.  I am attempting to finish as many of the Outlawz 2,000 member party challenges as I can!  The deadline to enter has been extended until July 7th, so everyone has time to join in the fun.  I am sure many of you in the USA have made patriotic cards this week, why don't you check out the Outlawz forum???  It is free to join and full of inspiration and wonderful crafters (plus prizes :>) )!!!

Remember my banner card from a couple days ago?  I decided to flip it and limit the colors.  Honestly, this is such an easy card to make and since I can get stuck making masculine cards sometimes, I may just have to make more of these so that I have extra cards on hand!

This one is perfect for the Outlawz Paper Ala Mode Challenge - to create a card using your country's colors.

Now, what to do with extra banners?  How about just using a few on a card...

This one is for the Outlawz Color Challenge - Use the colors of where you are from - well, I went with Red, White and Blue for the USA.  I don't even know if my town has it's own colors!

Smiles,
Julie

A CAS Guy Card, Plus It's Cute

It's time to play along with the CAS challenge team at The Outlawz.  Today in the USA we are celebrating Father's Day. In honor of the men in our lives, this week's challenge is to create a CAS masculine card.

I created a frame with scrap paper to use as a stencil, then stamped the background.  Clean and Simple, masculine, and I still managed to get some cute in there!

My card is also for the DYSU #76 Boys/Men Masculine challenge.

Smiles,
Julie

A Sketch, a Mouse and a Balloon

I recently came across a card by Mary J with a super cute monster on it from Pollycraft.  I hopped over to check out the store and well, you know how it goes when you go shopping in a store full of cute images and there is a sale...
...I bought a few more images than I planned on!

This card pairs up "Marley's Party" with some new Basic Grey.  The lo is based on the Pollycraft Monday Challenge sketch - can't resist a sketch either!

Spring Gift Set

Happy Spring!
Today I am sharing a spring inspired gift set featuring October Afternoon paper and lots of Whimsie Doodles cuteness.

The card features "Snail Garden" and uses April's SFYTT - another great sketch!

A gift filled paper purse.  It is made using one of my favorite templates from Perfect Presentation - My Little Bag.  No stamping on this one, just alot of stitching!

A "sweet" tag with a turtle from "Single Turtles" attached to some sweets from my favorite local candy maker - Munson's Chocolates (yum!).

Another turtle from "Single Turtles" on an envelope wrap (which would work wrapped around a present too).
This one is for the Whimsy Stamps Punches or Die Cut challenge (corner rounder and PTI Die - I cut out the die twice, once in red and again in the cream - I then cut the sides off the cream with scissors to let the red show).
Plus, challenge #29 from Desert Island Crafts ( I used kraft, rounded corners and embossing on the red die cut).

Have a wonderful day!

Smiles,
Julie

O"fish"ial Valentines

Are you O"fish"ially ready for Valentine's Day?
Today we finished Valentine's that one of my sons will be sharing with his pre-school class.  Perfect timing for the PTI Anniversary challenge to use hearts
I did the coloring and he helped by cranking my Cuttlebug for the diecuts and embossing.  He even did some taping.

With the Valentine will be a little treat - how fun to pair it with a bag of Goldfish.

I did not forget about the girls in the class either and pulled in some pink.  As my son said earlier today, "Girls like pink".

The circle image with sentiment is from the Whimsie Doodles' Valentines Messages set.  If you are looking for something last minute digis are the way to go!!!  The hearts on the fish were made using my copics - just use the side - so easy.
Have fun making your own Valentines!

Smiles,
Julie

PTI's 5th Anniversary - Day 1 Challenge

Pretty creative title, eh?I am sure you have already guessed that I am playing along with Papertrey Ink's 5th Anniversary Challenge - Day 1.  I did not have much time to play, but I wanted to squeeze in a card for the challenge, so I went the CAS route and cased Maile.  I was drawn to Maile's card because it is bright and cheerful and still CAS.  I am all over the place with my "style", it really depends on the mood I am in.  Maile makes it seem so easy to create a new CAS card each day that is fresh and interesting - gotta admire that!

Ha to the idea that this would be a quick card!!! I went through 2 sheets of white paper for this one because my sentiment was not cooperating.
Alas, the weekend is over, but here is hoping the coming week is creative on the crafty front!
Smiles,
Julie

Today I am crafting along with Playing in Paradise as a guest designer.   Thank you ladies!!!The challenge this week is to create a craft project based on this:

You have until next Thursday to play along.  Have fun and link up your take on the sketch HERE.

Julie

Happy New Year

I am starting off the new year by sharing the Christmas card that I sent out last year.
A quick and simple card that I cased from Dawn McVey.
I send out lots of cards, so the easier the better.
I almost did not do a Christmas card, because I could not get a pic of the kids.  When my Mom heard her reaction was "no Christmas card???!!!".  So she and my sister said they would get a pic.  Well, with 3, there is always one who does not want to participate.  I am calling this the $5 card because my sister had to bribe someone to smile!

Happy New Year!!!
Smiles,
Julie

Christmas Continues

I have another Christmas card for you today.  I am surprising myself in that I really figured it would be a couple more months before I thought about Christmas again.  I guess all it took was a good inspiration.

The Christmas Stamping All Year Long challenge this week is a sweet inspiration photo and I decided to interpret it as a sketch.  Just a bit of fun with the banner and "Away We Go" becomes a Christmas stamp.
Smiles,
Julie

Flying on By with a Birthday Hi!

Last week was the PTI blog hop.  It was also when my computer decided it no longer liked pictures.  Alas, I missed the hop!  But, I did create something, so I thought I would still share albeit a week late!

I was inspired by the colors and the panels in the photo.  I am in need of masculine Birthday cards, so I kept it on the CAS side.
Smiles,
Julie
