CAS Gift Tag Tote

This week's SCS CAS challenge is ABC - Anything But a Card with a Christmas/Holiday gift theme.  It had me pulling out items from my stash that I have not used in a long time!

Ingredients:   Stamps - Verve (circle), Your Next Stamp Sentiments Five, Dies - YNS 3x3 envelope die and YNS Scrapworks Strips die, Ink - SU, CS - PTI, PP - SU.
I am not sure if I really interpretted the challenge correctly, but I went with a 3x3 gift card tote filled with 6 cards and envelopes.   This gift is to say "thank you"...I thought this one might be great for a teacher or assistant.

The tutorial for the tote can be found on SCS - HERE.  It went together quite easily.   I decided to swap out the paper handle and use ribbon instead, using brads and some old SU hardware from my stash.   I think created six note cards and coordinating envelopes.  The patterned paper used on the envelopes is from SU, something I had tucked away and still in the packaging!

Be sure to check out the challenge and create something CAS!

Ingredients:   Verve Blue Skies Stamp Set, YNS Stitched Rectangle Dies
Today I am sharing my last DTGD challenge card.  I purposely saved this one to share last because it is the most important one.  I am dedicating this one to everyone who needs to be courageous each and every day.  I typically do not get too personal on my blog, after all, crafting is about fun and sharing ideas.  This card however means a lot to me and I am hopeful that even angels are able to see my blog.

Hugs today for all,

Champagne Celebration

Ingredients:  Your Next Stamp Pop the Bubbly stamp set

With a stamp this large, that's a standard A4 card, it is easy to create a CAS card.   The stamp fills up all the white space.   I popped up the white panel and layered it over the striped patterned paper.  Besides the coloring in, it was easy to put together.

If you did not guess it already, this was for one of the DTGD challenges.

Trucking Along

Today, I have a couple DTGD cards featuring trucks.

Here is something you do not see very often from me, a spinner card!  I think I need to make more of these because interactive cards are fun to make and fun to receive.
Ingredients:   Your Next Stamp Keep on Trucking Stamp Set, Stitched Strips die set and Small Spinner Slider Die Set

My second card is relatively simple with lots of strips of patterned paper.   I stamped directly on the colored card stock and then colored it in.

Quilted Flower

Ingredients:   Your Next Stamp Scrapworks Mini Starburst Die set, Mini Tag Trio die set, Stitched Rectangle Dies and YNS Gumdrop.
This week I am sharing the last of my SCS DTGD challenge creations.
Quilting is a past love of mine.   I wish it did not take so much time to quilt.   The time consuming aspect of it is the reason that paper crafting has become my main hobby.   With that said, the perfect solution is to quilt with paper!

CAS Floral Tag

CAS Monday!   The SCS CAS challenge this week is tags - create a tag or use a tag on a card.   My card is full of leaves and 1 flower, oh and a tag too!

Stamps - Verve Great Friend Stamp set, Dies - YNS Stitched Tags Set Two, Other - PTI ribbon and corner rounder punch

To create the leaves I did double stamping - stamped once with the orange and then stamped off on scrap and stamped again to get the lighter color.

Join in the CAS fun over at SCS!

Happy Birthday Cake Day!

Yesterday, I checked out the latest TCP Tuesday challenge (TCPTUES297) and got a little crafty.   The challenge is an inspiration photo of the beach, but since I did not have any TCP beach related stamps I got a little creative.

Ingredients:   TCP Forget about the Cake stamp set, YNS Alpha stamp set, YNS Big Birthday Balloon Die set and YNS Banner die set, Doodlebug Designs PP, PTI CS, and embroidery floss.

I decided to take my inspiration from the colors and then I used the second photo as the inspiration for the layout on my card.  The bright and happy patterned paper is from Doodlebug Designs and I think it matches the beach blanket well. I want that blanket btw!

My card is based on the sketch.   I came across scraps of the plaid paper and had to use it.   I love plaid and the colors are so warm on this one.  Yes, it is a fall card, sorry!!   I could not resist using the plaid paper.

Water Coloring Trio

A trio of card featuring water coloring ahead - not standard water coloring either.   Each of these was for a DTGD challenge.
On this one, I started off by white embossing the Heart Splatter background stamp.   Then I sponged pink ink on to the base.   The final step was to wet the Heart Splatter stamp with water by filling a shallow dish with water and laying a paper towel in it, then using that as an ink pad.   This technique called water stamping created the water spots.
Stamps:  Your Next Stamp Heart Splatter stamp and Lovestruck, Ink:  SU, Other:  White Embossing Powder

For the next two, I sponged ink on the card stock, then inked up the background stamp, sprayed water on the stamp and then stamped the paper. Lightly misting the stamp with water lets some of the images stay whole, while others blur.

Stamps:   Your Next Stamp Smiley Happy Critter Crew Set Two and sentiment from Party Animals, Your Next Stamp Flower Splatter Stamp Dies:  Your Next Stamp Stitched Tag Set Two dies, Stitched Rectangle Dies, and Fishtail/Banner Die Set OneInk:   SU and CS:  PTI
Stamps:   Your Next Stamp Snowfall, Dies:  MFT Butterfly dies and Your Next Stamp stitched rectangle dies, Other:  PTI Ribbon
This was my first time doing so much water coloring, but it was fun and I found myself using it more than I expected, give it a try yourself!

TCP Summer Customer Blog Hop

Today's card  is for The Cat's Pajamas Summer Customer Blog Hop.

Summer is all about fun and the sun, so I pulled out the stamp set Away We Go (for the fun) and grabbed a warm yellow patterned paper (the sun).

Ingredients:   Stamp Set - TCP Away We Go, Dies - YNS Stitched Rectangle Dies and Strip Dies, Papers - PTI and MME, and YNS Red Gumdrop

To create the illusion of the balloon flying off the panel, I started by stamping the bunny on the panel.  I then stamped it a second time on scrap card stock and cut out the balloon only.  I did all the paper piecing on the scrap piece and then added the "balloon" to the main stamped image. The balloon layer is popped up with dimensionals and surrounded by a frame created using nesting rectangle dies. The blue polka dot paper is adhered to a yellow card base - this way there is a pop of sun on the inside too.

My card is also for Susie's SCS DTGD challenge.

Thanks for stopping by!

Shaking with YNS

This month's Your Next Stamp Design Team Dare is an opportunity to comment and win on the YNS Blog.  It is also an opportunity for Thanh to challenge all of us on the YNS design team.   This month's challenge is "shake, shake, shake".

Oh shaker cards, how I love to look at thee, oh how much fun it is to shake thee...I could continue but I wouldn't want to start getting negative.
Yes, I accepted the challenge.
Yes, I made a shaker card.
Yes, let's leave it at that.
I won't get in to how I started gluing it all together without putting the acetate between the layers.  Or how the glue started oozing everywhere, no, I won't even go there.

My card features the newly released stamp set Party Animals.  I can't get enough of these cuties, they all make me smile.   The bear is topping my shaker card accompanied by the cupcake.   The sentiments are both from the set as well.
YNS Ingredients:  Party Animals Stamp Set, GumdropsParty Animals Die SetStitched Square Die SetScrapworks Strips Die SetScrapworks Mini Sunburst Die Set,

I stared off by cutting out the top 2 stitched squares.  I layered the 2 and centered the star and die cut through both layers.   It the die does not cut through the second sheet of cardstock it should have at least left an impression to make it easy to run it through the die cutting machine a second time.  Next step, search for a good shaker tutorial.

Don't forget to head on over to the YNS blog DT Dare Post for your chance to comment and win and it will be worth the trip to see the shaker creations from my teammates!

Plus, I definitely need to mention that there is a great sale going on in the YNS store through the end of August and a free Birthday set with a $40.00 purchase!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Fly By

Click HERE for the Your Next Stamp Birthday Blog Hop and your chance to win a gift certificate to the YNS Store!

Is your week just putt-putting along?   Hopefully not!   It is summer where I am and it seems like the days fly by - perfect for today's card - hee, hee!

Today's card is for The Cat's Pajamas Tuesday Color Challenge (TCPTUES296).   The challenge is to use hot pink, denim blue and yellow.

Ingredients:  TCP  Take Off stamp set, YNS Cloud and Stitched Rectangle Dies

I stamped, colored and then placed the plane layer on a mat. Everything is lined up on the right side so that the card base only shows on the left...this was my attempt to give the idea that the plane is moving in to view.   The clouds are layered away and some are popped up with dimensionals.

My card is also for Dina's second SCS DTGD challenge.

Fishing Fun

***Click HERE for the Your Next Stamp Birthday Blog Hop and your chance to win a gift certificate to the YNS Store!***

I have a CAS fishing related card for you today.  This Tiddly Inks image is perfect for young and old, if only I thought of that when I added the sentiment to my card. One of my sons loves fishing and he asked if it was for him...I may need to swap out the sentiment!
Ingredients:  Image - Tiddly Inks and sentiment - YNS Clowing Around stamp set

I am continuing my DTGD card sharing.  This one was for Jenn's DTGD challenge and the layout is based on Sketch Saturday Week #373.

 Smiles, Julie

CAS Waves of Color

Click HERE for the Your Next Stamp Birthday Blog Hop and your chance to win a gift certificate to the YNS Store!

Today's card is for the SCS CAS337 Waves of Color challenge.   This is my first time hosting the challenge so stop on by and play along!

Ingredients:   Your Next Stamp Stripes and Stitching stamp set and Whatnot Sentiments Set Five
When I thought of the theme I had sound waves in mind, but recreating those turned in to the card you see.   It is more of a graphic take on waves in general.  I ended up fussy cutting above the black wave and then popping up that layer with dimensionals.

Thanks for stopping by!

YNS August Birthday Blog Hop!!!

Welcome to the Your Next Stamp Birthday Blog Hop!!!

We are celebrating YNS' Birthday
with a HUGE new release,
HUGE  Blog Hop and
HUGE prizes!

Plus, there are store discounts and
a free special Birthday set with any purchase over $40.00.

The full blog hop list is at the bottom of my post.  There are 3 prizes up for grabs...each is a $50.00 gift certificate to the YNS Store!!!   You have until August 11th at midnight EST to leave your comments.

With a celebration this big my post today is big, so let's get right to the creations.
Up first, is the new set Incognito!   I have wanted a set like this for a long time.   Not only can you build a monster, you can also use the set to add accessories to the YNS critter stamps.   My card today though is all about the monsters and in case you were wondering, even monsters go to the beach.
YNS Ingredients:   Incognito! Stamp set, Stitched Rectangle Dies, Stitched Strip Dies, Stitched Circle dies, Circle Dies, Cloud Dies, and Summer Fun Die Set
My card is for the Naughty or Nice challenge #18 - Fun in the Sun.   Heading to the beach is definitely summer fun!

Up next is a gift bag and 3x3 gift card with coordinating envelope.   It is a Birthday party after all, so we definitely need something to hold the gift.
YNS Ingredients:  Big Birthday Balloon Die Set, 3x3 Envelope Die and Whatnot Sentiments Set Five

The trio was created using the new Big Birthday Balloon Die set.   It comes with a balloon that is a great size for decorating bags and yet still works on a 3x3 card.  It also comes with 2 happy birthday dies.   My card features the scripty die, but there is also another standard alph die.   I die cut a few balloons, added twine for the string and finished it off with a sentiment.

Here is a close up of the 3x3 note card.   The floral with the red balloon is an envelope made with the new 3x3 Envelope Die - I just love matching envelopes to dress up a note card.

Now that you have seen a sampling of the new release what is on your wish list?   There are discounts in the YNS store, so now is a good time to shop!

Plus, there is a free set if you spend over $40.00.

I put together a trio of tags featuring the free set.

Have fun as you continue to hop!   Refer back to the full blog list below if you get lost along the way so that you do not miss anything.  There are so many great sets being released!

YNS Ingredients:  Party Animals stamp set and coordinating dies, Cute Alpha stamp set, Alpha Squares die and Stitched Rectangle Dies

Birthday Monster

Happy Friday!
There is a new challenge up on the YNS blog today!
YNS Ingredients:  Silly Monsters Stamp stamp set, Stripes and Stitching stamp set, Fishtail Banner Dies, Stitched Square dies, Stitched Rectangle dies and Scrapworks Stitched Strip dies

I had fun creating this card!   It is based on sketch #20 and is also for Dina's SCS DTGD challenge.   The plaid base was stamped using the Stripes and Stitching stamp set, and then I added on layer upon layer, even layering the banners.   To create the rectangle that the monster is on I used 2 square die cuts and connected them to get the desired size.   I used the strips to cover the seams.   This allowed me to create the look of a long, narrower rectangle.

The sketch and color combo for YNS challenge #20.

Click here to check out all the details and get more inspiration from my teammates.
