Yvonne Yam always has the most interesting guest designers and I am not just saying that because I was one :>) . I love to play along with the challenges, but sometimes the challenges are well, a challenge! The latest guest is Ujjwal Gupta and she is challenging everyone to use embossing on a simple card (the deadline is July 1st!). Well, I am sure many of you are thinking that is an easy challenge. It turned into a multiple challenge for me. I could have gone the dry embossing route, but it has been so long since I used embossing powder. First, I had to find my powder. That took 15 minutes. Then I had to actually emboss. I now remember why I do not emboss. I make a huge mess!!! Then, too top it all off I ended up sticking my fingers on my first attempt before the embossing dried.
After all that, here is what I ended up with.
This is all embossed and I admit, the embossing gives this otherwise CAS card a bit of ooomph. Just enough shine and just a bit of dimension. Okay, I like the results. I just don't like the mess.
Smiles,
Julie

I am SO with you on the embossing... it is messy... I love the look too but not the mess so I don't do mush either... You card makes me want to try again but then I have to find my STUFF again... maybe later in the week...
ReplyDeleteLove the ooomph :)
ReplyDeleteI actually really re-discovered heat embossing this year...love doing it because some images just seems to scream to be embossed.
I only do embossing when I know I will vacuuming after....lol
ReplyDeleteThis is a really cool card...love the sentiment and the embossing really adds that little something extra!
Thanks for playing along with my guest Ujjwal's embossing challenge!
I'm with you girl. That's why I rarely emboss anything because I am a messy crafter LOL! This turned out perfectly though! Love it!
ReplyDeleteThis is awesome! Great design! I don't emboss often because I hate messy techniques. Glitter is the most evil. I'm also lazy.
ReplyDeleteFabulous design! I love embossing but only with detail clear...that way I usually don't have to do the whole static bag thingy. lol Lazy too, I guess! ;o)
