Sketch Girl #17

Ready for a new sketch challenge?  Leigh Ann has another great one for us, actually 2.

Frenzified is the sponsor for Sketch #17.  One random participant of sketch #17 will receive a great prize for the Frenzified store (link up your creation using sketch #17 HERE by May 14th at 9 pm EST)!  Frenzified sells unique digital images and sentiments, that are available individually or as a set. The latest release is Cutie Critters - all adorable animal images.  Check out the animals and all the other images available at www.Frenzified.com.

Here are the sketches...choose your fave!
I went with the squares and a color that I like as a color, but just not for paper crafting, purple!  The PP is from a yummy DCWV paper pad that I bought because there was blue in it (of course!).  But it turns out that the combo of purple and chocolate was just too tempting for me (really anything with "chocolate" is tempting :>).  Once I went with the flower for the "circle" I just had to add this "fabulous" sentiment!

A Wavy Sketch

Wednesday is Hump Day Inspiration Day on the Inktegrity Challenge blog.  Here is this week's sketch so you can play along for a chance to win 3 images, just link up your creation HERE

Okay, the sketch isn't really wavy, I just decided to interpret the bottom half as waves :>)  When I saw the cute penguins released from Inktegrity last week I wanted waves for them to ride.  The pic on this LO is of my daughter when she was little, the year on it is not a typo!

Do you have lots of projects that you have started and never finished?  In the quilting world they call 'em UFOs (unfinished objects)!  I think it may have taken me longer to find this pic of my daughter then it did to make the LO.  I knew I had never scrapbooked it, but did not realize that I stuck it in her album with the photo matted and that's it.  I made it work and added the waves, clouds and of course, the cute Slusser Inner Tube images.  Slusser is printed at 75% and 50% to create the different sizes.  Plus, see those glossy inner tubes?  This is my first time using Glossy Accents and I love it!!!  I touched it too early twice, which meant my larger inner tube got a few layers of gloss, but lesson learned and I am so happy with the results.  Not to mention that it did not make my computer printed image run.

BTW, if you have been eyeing Slusser, than Friday may be the day to buy him.  Starting this Friday 4/30 and running until 12pm est on Sunday 5/2, Joni is having a BOGO sale!!!! She is THE SWEETEST!!!  Buy one and get one free, that means you can grab a couple of these Sclusser images for the price of one!
Have a great night!!!
Smiles,
Julie

Welcome Little One!

Hi there!  Today's card is based on the MFW sketch challenge.  I decided to go with Little Paper Shop's Chick in Egg digi image and use it to make a "welcome baby" card.  The fun sketch from MFW has a little call out blurb and we all know that most little ones like to party all night long (or at least all 3 of mine did)!!!

The owner of LPS just had a little boy over the weekend, so this may be just the quirky card I send off to her :>)  Congrats to Julia and her family!

Plus, Stamptacular's challenge this week is sewing!

Well I am getting this one in at the "last minute", so I will keep this short!!!

Smiles,
Julie

LPS Color Challenge

This week, Little Paper Shop is challenging you to use Lilac, Banana and White on a project.  Sounds easy, right?   Then why don't you play along with us?!?!  I am looking forward to seeing what you can do with this color combo.  Just link up your creation HERE by Sunday May 2nd at 10 pm EST and one random participant will win the "Lucy Horse" digi image!  If you post to a gallery, use key word LPSC65.

Ok, I have to be honest, I have trouble using yellow and purple, never mind having to put the 2 together!  Where is the aqua???  Well, I made my card, but I was sure to take a pic of it with an aqua background!!!

I pulled out my glitter and embossing powder for this one, along with the newly released Rose set from LPS.  The layout is based on Card Patterns sketch #61:

Be sure to check out the LPS Design Team's creations along with the other 2 guest designers...I peeked at their cards and there are some beauties to be found this week!

Happy Monday!

Julie

A Sweet Sketch Challenge

Today is Wednesday, which means time for another Inktegrity Hump Day Inspiration Sketch Challenge.  This week's sketch was perfect to incorporate my favorite technique of late, folded paper.  The waves and the strips are all folded paper, which was perfect for Inner Tube Slusser to stand in!
Play along with the sketch below and you may just win 3 images from the Inktegrity store!!!  Link up your creation HERE

Plus, the challenge this week at Stamptacular Sunday Challenge is to use a penguin or penguin inspired colors.  Well Slusser is perfect for this challenge!!!

I am keeping this post super short, it may only be Wednesday, but it feels like Friday!!!

Slusser is Ready for Summer Fun!

****   2nd Post for the Day, be sure to scroll down for more eye candy and sweets!  ****

Today is release day at Inktegrity.  Joni is releasing 3 beach related images of Slusser, who is a cutie patootie penguin!
As soon as I saw these images it brought back memories of last summer and my son on the beach.  What better time to pull out the beach pics which I ordered months ago and had sitting in an envelope?  (Usually when I want to do a LO it involves a trip to the store to pick up photos!)

So here is the cutie - okay, the 2 cuties :>)  Volleyball Slusser and my son Justin.

The other 2 Slusser images are just as sweet as this one.  Each Slusser image comes with sentiments, although I did not use one on the LO (the title and journaling were created in MS Word).

Plus, now is the perfect time to use Slusser for a challenge...the challenge this week at Stamptacular Sunday Challenge is to use a penguin or penguin inspired colors!!!

Check out the rest of the design team too (see links in sidebar) and head over to the Inktegrity blog for more eye candy!

I will be back tomorrow with another Slusser image and the Inktergrity Hump Day Inspiration Challenge sketch.

Smiles,
Julie

The new set "Rose" is so beautiful.  I love the roses and the sentiments included - think Mother's Day and think of this set!  Today I actually have 2 cards to share.  I made this first one for the color challenge and then decided to make another using the same colors, but incorporating kraft.  Each of the roses was stamped 3 times and then I cut out layers of varying petals, crumpled and reassembled with a button.   Also, all those backgrounds you see were created using Behind the Scenes.

Now it is time to hop on and visit the fabulous blog of Silvia Mabie - Mabie Stampin.

Don't forget to stop back tomorrow for details on the Release Day challenge.  Good Luck!!!

It's Day 2 of the LPS Celebration!

Hello again!  Are you ready for Day 2 of our April previews from the Little Paper Shop.  Today, we are previewing an adorable stamp set called Little Lady KatieHave you seen the Little Cuties line of stamps from LPS?  Well today's set is a new addition to that line and she is definitely a cutie.

Want to win a $10 Gift Certificate to the LPS store? All you have to do is comment on ALL the DT members blogs today for a chance to be entered in the random drawing for the gift certificate.   How easy is that?  Just for checking out all the gorgeous samples from the Design Team (and leaving a sweet word or two - hehehee) you could win the $10 Gift Certificate!  Plus, don't forget about the awesome $35 Gift Certificate that one person can win to the store by participating in our Birthday Celebration challenge on Release Day, Tuesday, April 20th.

You should be arriving here from Tasha Beasley's fabulous blog - Millie's Magical Moments.  If not then head over to the Little Paper Shop Blog where the hop begins.   Remember, you can always go back to the LPS blog if you get lost along the way.

Today my card is based upon the 4/14  card sketch challenge from SCS, #276 (see, I told you yesterday that I love sketches!).  I kept to the sketch and added lots of layers and PP.   This "cutie" may be a lady bug, but I decided to go with pink since it is a fave of many of my DD's friends.  The polka dot strip is from Background Basics, which we previewed yesterday.  The swirled layer is made with a "bee trail" stamp that is included in the Little Lady Katie set - it is a single stamp that I inked up multiple times to create the PP.

After I finished my card I put together a quick (and I do mean super quick) box to hold a gift card and bit of candy.  The purse is the "My Little Bag" template from Perfect Presentation, this is my fave of late 'cause it super cute, super easy, and I think a purse is so appropriate for a gift card :>).  I printed out the template, cut it out (yes, I am deprived, no electronic cutter in my craft area, although I am really thinking I want need one), scored, folded, and then taped it all together.  I stamped the polka dots from Behind the Scenes on the flap mat, added a ribbon handle and that was it!  Now I have a gift ready for my DD to give to a friend this weekend.

Now it is time to hop on and visit the fabulous blog of Silvia Mabie - Mabie Stampin.

Don't forget to stop back tomorrow for Day 3 of the April Previews and there will be another chance to win a $10 Gift Certificate to the store.  Good Luck!!!

Personal note, today is Walk MS...my entire family will be walking along with our team Cousins for a Cause, here in CT.  Walk MS is such a wonderful way to raise funds for research, education and assistance to those with MS.  One of my cousins has MS, so this is very close to my heart.  Now on to the LOL...last year, my DH could not join us, so I walked with my 3 children.  Let me just say that I worked hard to earn every penny that was donated to sponsor us!  I walked the entire 5 miles either pushing a double stroller or holding one of my DSs after my DD got tired and needed a ride.  Our team got split up, so those that were with me were at the back of the pack.  By the time we reached the finish line the volunteers that are normally cheering were already sitting down and eating lunch.  I do have to say that one did give out a small cheer as we walked past :>)  So here is hoping that we are not the last to cross the finish line this year!

Have a wonderful Sunday!
Smiles,
Julie

Let the Celebrating Begin - LPS is 2!

Hi Everyone!
Today is the first day of sneak peeks for the April release from Little Paper Shop.   There is a lot going on the next few days as Little Paper Shop is celebrating it's two year anniversary this month.  To celebrate there will be fun stuff for all of you!!!

Be sure to stop by every day thru release day, Tuesday.  EACH DAY there will be a BLOG HOP thru the blogs of the LPS design team with a chance to win a $10 Gift Certificate to the Little Paper Shop!!!  We all love to shop, especially for stamps, wouldn't it be fun to shop with a gift certificate?!?!!!  Since this is LPS's 2nd Birthday Celebration, there is even more...One person who participates in a special Birthday Challenge on Tuesday April 20th will win a $35 Gift Certificate to the LPS store (How fab is that?!!!) .  I promise to share more details on that challenge as we get closer to Release Day.

Are you ready to find out how to win the $10 Gift Certificate to the store today?  It's simple, just leave a comment on each DT member's blog.  Each person that leaves a comment on ALL the DT members blogs will be entered into a random drawing to win the $10 Gift Certificate.
So are you ready to hop?  You should be arriving here from Tasha Beasley's fabulous blog - Millie's Magical Moments.  If not then head over to the Little Paper Shop Blog where the hop begins.   Remember, you can always go back to the LPS blog if you get lost along the way.

Today the design team is previewing a set for you called BEHIND THE SCENES.  This is a must have (in my opinion!) background set with 3 large stamps in it for making your own backgrounds or adding a strip of stamping.  Each strip is about 1 inch wide and just over 4.5 inches in length.  There are polka dots, a cursive script, and dots connected by lines to form stripes - overall a great assortment to have in your stash!!!

For my card, I had orange stuck in my head, so I added my fave color aqua and a little kraft to balance it all out!  I used the Behind the Scenes set to create the circle stripes on the "I Heart" hot air balloon, the 3 horizontal aqua strips use the polka dots and the aqua and orange circle stripes on the white background.
To create the background paper I stamped in orange first and then went back over it with aqua.
I am already thinking of other ways to use this great set...I am sure the polka dots could be doubled up too!  Plus, the script is the type of background stamp that I have been looking for, for awhile.

You know I just love sketches and my card is based on another goodie from CPS, sketch #162:
So enough about my card, it is time to hop on to the oh so creative Silvia Mabie - Mabie Stampin.  Have fun, I just know that the rest of the Design Team has some wonderful eye candy to share along the way.  Don't forget to stop back tomorrow for Day 2 of the April Previews and another chance to win a $10 Gift Certificate to the store.  Good Luck!!!
Smiles,

Sew Happy Sketch

It's Wednesday again, which means time for another fun Hump Day Inspiration Sketch Challenge from Inktegrity.  This week's sketch is easy to dress up or down and perfect for so many types of cards!  I took a slightly vintage route and embellished away with thread and buttons (of course!).

My sister gave me that awesome trim that I put around the heart...love it!!!!!! THANK YOU!  If you are reading this, Sis, and see more, please, please, please pick up some more 'cause I know it will not go to waste :>)

Here is this week's sketch so you can play along:

Ice Cream Anyone?

Today I am sharing a fun project I made for the latest Little Paper Shop challenge, which is to create a 3-D item.  I LOVE ice cream!  So when I saw the "Ice Cream Tyson" digital stamp from Little Paper Shop I fell in love with it right away.

You could win your own copy of "Ice Cream Tyson" just by participating in the challenge this week on the Little Paper Shop blog.  You can make any 3-D project you would like and you are not required to use LPS stamps to play along.  Just link up your creation HERE by Sunday April 18th at 10 pm EST and one random participant will win!
My box is a Birthday present that holds ice cream toppings and a gift card for a local ice cream shop!  How appropriate is the image of a little boy sharing a cone with his pup?!?!

I created the tag by taking the striped PP and stamping the word "Happy" on each color, I then glued the various strips to a circle, and put the word "Birthday" on dimensionals.  Tyson and the pup are both paper pieced.  The grass was created by sniping a strip of PP and I sewed it down for some added texture and sponged the sky.  The blue mat is actually 2 of the Nestabilities Curved Rectangles die shapes, since I did not have a die that was long and narrow.

The box that holds all the toppings is the Perfect Presentation Able Gable box, with a finished size of 5-1/4  x 2-5/8  x  3 and 6-1/4" high with the handle.  I wanted to be sure to share a view from above showing that all those bags fill the box perfectly.  I probably could have added another bag too, but as a mom myself, I know that there is a such thing as too much candy! (I am waiting for all the Easter candy to disappear from my house!)

Be sure to check out the LPS Design Team's creations along with the other 2 guest designers this month...there are some creative 3-D projects out there!!!

Have a wonderful start to your week!
Smiles,
Julie

Flying on By

Here I am again with bright colors - not sure what is going on, but I am going to roll with it!  The Going Places images from Inktegrity are some of my faves.  I took the plane and sentiment from "High There" and pulled in the clouds from "Backgrounds I".

This card is based on Inktegrity's Hump Day Sketch challenge.

Be sure to play along and link up your own creation for a chance to win 3 digi images from Inktegrity.

The bright colors were inspired by the color challenge at Friends Having Fun - China Blue, Sunshine Yellow and White.  This is a new challenge blog which will have a color challenge the first Monday of each month.  My oh so talented friend Alyssa is part of the DT, so be sure to bop over to her blog and see what she did with the colors too!
Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Little Paper Shop Weekly Challenge Excitement

A couple months ago I received an e-mail from Little Paper Shop asking if I would like to be a guest designer for April, May and June.  My response, YES, I love LPS's clear stamps and digi images!!!  I am so honored that Julia (the owner) and her fab DT asked me.  I am beyond excited, to the point where I am giddy, goofy and someone really needs to pinch me (or smack me over the head) :>)!!!  So thank you Julia and all the DT, I am looking forward to working with you the next 3 months.  I got a peek at some of the upcoming releases and I know that all of you will be just as excited as I am right now.
Okay, enough about me and my excitement, now on to the important stuff...

Each Monday the LPS blog has a weekly challenge, this week it is a sketch challenge (you know how much I like sketches!).  I went with a new digi from LPS, appropriately named "Dino".
He is just the cutest!  And he is perfect for baby cards or little boy cards.  I have 3 cousins and 2 friends who are pregnant and 4 of the 5 are having boys (the fifth did not find out the sex), so I will not have trouble finding a home for this little blue plaid sweetie.

Here is the sketch so that you can play along:

Create your own card or project based on this sketch and link it up to the LPS blog HERE, by Sunday April 11th at 10 pm EST.  One random participant will win the Mermaid Jena digi.  If you upload to a gallery use the keyword LPSC62.

Be sure to check out what the rest of the Little Paper Shop design team did with the sketch.  In addition to the regular DT, there are 2 other Guest Designers joining in for the next 3 months.

Have a wonderful Monday!

You're a Star!

The latest release is from Inktegrity is "Ticket Please".  There are tons of fun ticket sentiments and several movie images including popcorn!
I went more of a pop art route, which is so not the normal style for me.  I am typically afraid of bright colors!

Check out what rest of the Inktegrity Design Team did with these fun new images:
