One of the new images included in the March Whimsie Doodles' release is Social Teen Texting. How appropriate for the times we live in!
I have had her colored up and I was just awaiting a sketch inspiration. I ended up casing a card by Jen Del Muro and using the sketch.
HAGO!

Julie

Tasty Easter
Oh what sweetness! Don't you just love Easter Candy? I have a sweet tooth and have deemed Easter to have theeeee BEST candy of all the holidays.
The image is Egg Hunt from Whimsie Doodles and the sentiment is from the Easter Sentiments set. The Picket Fence is a new cut file from Perfect Presentation. I cut it out 3 times and then embossed all the pieces before assembling the fence and glueing it on to the card base.
Smiles,
Julie

VLV - Week 2
I was in the mood to make something soft and pretty. The green PP was still sitting on my craft desk and it seemed meant to be used with a bloom.
This is based on Viva La Verve's March week 2 sketch. 2 sketches down, 2 to go... Plus, I now have 1 Mother's Day card finished!
This one is also for Lily Pad Cards - flower challenge and Cupcake Craftroom - Spring Bouquet challenge.

Julie

Egg-stra Special Easter
I have lots to share this week! After a week of being sick (my sons shared the virus they had with me) I am behind on posts. I also had a great crafting day on Sunday where I actually finished DT projects not due until the end of April!
First up are some gift tags that I made for my Mom to hang on bags for the kids in her classroom.
I used the multi-loop bow technique that I learned from Emily Keaton when she guested on Yvonne Yam's blog. I missed the challenge deadline, but this is the second time I used Emily's technique, so I already won :>) (Here is where I made a multi-loop using ribbon)
Hope your week is off to a great start!
Smiles,
Julie

Spring Challenge
The March Whimsie Doodles Challenge is going on right now! The theme for this month's challenge is Spring Fling! Create a project that is inspired by the upcoming Spring season. You could use traditional Spring colors, a Spring holiday, find a Spring picture and use elements from it, etc...
There will be 2 winners for the challenge! One (1) lucky winner will be drawn at random to win a FREE Whimsie Doodles image, of their choice, from the latest release. And the second winner will join the Whimsie Doodle team as a Guest Artist in May 2012!!
I decided to go with "a Spring holiday" and create place cards for Easter breakfast using the Whimsie Doodles Jelly Belly circle sentiment/image.
I have Tammy to thank for this idea. I saw sour cream containers on her blog and thought they were so cute that I had to make some for myself. Plus how perfect is that shape as a carrot of sorts?! I used the tutorial on SCS.
Check out all the details on the Whimsie Doodles blog and link up your own Spring inspired project!
Smiles,
Julie

Flashing Back to Paper Piecing
It is time for Flashback Friday 21.0.
This time around the challenge is to repost your first card with paper piecing.
I went back to 2009 and the fourth card that I posted on my blog had paper piecing.
Well, I have flashed back to this one before as it is also my first card posted with stitching.
Sooooo, I decided to also share my first layout with paper piecing too...
So easy to play along and fun, plus you may just win a prize! Okay, fun most of the time, maybe not so much so when I am not too fond of what I am flashing back on. Now head on over to the Flashback Friday blog for all the details. Remember, you do not even have to make anything new to play along!!!
Smiles,
Julie

Are You Ready For Christmas?
So are you ready for Christmas???
I am usually rushing around at the last minute as Christmas gets closer. This year is going to be different for me...I am going to start my Christmas projects right now!!!And I am going to have fun doing it!!!
I am excited to announce that I am now part of the Christmas Stampin' All Year Long DT and I will be sharing a little Christmas spirit with you each week. Although I think I will hold off on hanging up the stockings and decorating the tree until at least after Thanksgiving.
Are you ready to join me and the rest of the CSAYL design team in getting ready for Christmas?
The first challenge this year is to make a shaped card or a box and we are sponsored by The Cutting Cafe!!!
One winner will receive 3 sets from the Cutting Cafe!
I was fortunate enough to get to play with the Cutting Cafe's Christmas Basic Shapes cutting file set, which contains 30 shapes. I cut out the trees, deer and sentiment from the set.The template is Tall Gable from Perfect Presentation and used 2 sheets of cs.
Be sure to join us at CSAYL and get a start on your Christmas gift giving list. I always have a long wish list of what I would like to make and usually end up cutting items off the list because I run out of time. NOT THIS YEAR!!! It is never too late to make a resolution for the year ;>)
Smiles,
Julie
Details: Shapes - The Cutting Cafe (Christmas Basic Shapes), PP - old SU (woo hoo, I am using up my stash), CS - PTI and SU, Ink - PTI (Fresh Snow) and Tim Holtz distressing ink, Template - Perfect Presentation, and ribbon - PTI.

Whimsie Doodles' March Release
It's March release time at Whimsie Doodles!
Every month I write that the images being released are super cute (which they are). This month there are cute ones, sweet ones and sassy ones. All fun!
Every month I write that the images being released are super cute (which they are). This month there are cute ones, sweet ones and sassy ones. All fun!
I made a Shutterfly book of our trip to Disney recently (gasp, I know, I should have scrapbooked it!). My husband showed the kiddos You Tube videos of some of the rides prior to our leaving. When I wrote about that in the book though, I put "U" tube! I really don't watch too many You Tube videos and obviously did not really think too much about it until my 8 year old pointed out my mistake!
Now be sure to check out the rest of the DT {see the sidebar} and the Whimsie Doodle's blog, then start shopping at the store!
Smiles,
Julie
