A Banner Day

I am still in love with banners!  Especially sewn ones - which are so fun.  I created my own by cutting out banners using Lil' Inker Designs' Flag Die.  It was really easy to sew together using the long flags and then trimming each after.  CAS and fast!

Smiles,
Julie

All the Colors in a Rainbow

Rainbows are magical.
From the dreary comes something beautiful.
The latest Embellish Magazine challenge is all about rainbows.  Once I realized that I do not own a rainbow stamp I decided to keep it CAS and create my own rainbow of sorts.

I took one of the dot strip stamps from Practicing Creativity's "For the Love of Dots" and curved it on the stamp block to create the rainbow wave.  Lots of color, a bit of bling and still CAS.
Smiles,
Julie

Pottery Inspiration

This week, challenge #8 from the Paper Players is an inspiration - pottery.  I love the colors and patterns on Polish pottery.  I wanted to keep it clean and simple, so I pulled in the colors and rows for this card.

All those dots are created using Practicing Creativity's For the Love of Dots - gotta love it!  This card is also for MFW's Clean and Graphic challenge.  I am hoping to get to some of the other MFW challenges, but time is getting away from me!

Have a great day!
Smiles,
Julie

Sketch Girl #13

Sketch Girl #13!

It will be lucky for one participant because this month our sponsor is Wild Flower Kids digital stamps, which are available in the Wild Flower Patch Store.  One random participant of Sketch #13 will win 5 digi stamps, so link up your project HERE.

I love the sketch this time around because you can keep it super simple or dress it up.  I went the simple route and created these cards.  I think this is the perfect sketch for making a set of quick cards, which is a great gift to have on hand.

I am combining the sketch challenge with another challenge...this week Little Paper Shop has a color challenge - Kiwi, Dark Brown and Kraft.  I was not sure to do with that combo at first, but I really like the 3 colors once they are put together.

The argyle is created using Practicing Creativity's Key to My Heart set.  Now this next one is also being submitted into MFW's Olympics!  Cath always has great challenges and this one is right up there.  This is the only way I will ever compete at the "Olympics" LOL!

Inspired by Buttons

I know, I know, when am I not inspired by buttons?!?!

Courtney Baker made a card with tons of buttons and the rays from her latest stamp release, You're Dandy (check it out here). All those circles inspired me to create this card using the latest EBTKS sketch challenge. Yes, surprisingly there are no buttons on my version, but the idea of all those circles had me pulling out my 1/4" punch.

It is so clean and simple yet full of color. I wish I had thought of this the last time there was a tough color challenge because this is an easy way to get in 5 colors!
I am also submitting this card into MFW's Olympic challenge, for the "Hello/Thinking of You" category.  Cath always has fun challenges and this is no exception.  I've got lots of circles here, so here is hoping they turn into an Olympic medal!

Smiles,
Julie

Card Positioning Systems #153

This week's Card Positioning Systems sketch challenge is sponsored by PTI!

I made this card to coordinate with the treat box I made for my husband (here). I kept it super simple, because I love using the plaid embossing with this stamp set!

Valentines

Yesterday I mentioned that I started making Valentines. Oh what fun I had creating these little cuties.
I hand drew the branch then stamped the heart leaves.

Cute Card Thursday's challenge this week is to use pink and grey!

My son liked the crocodile the best!

Happily I finished a couple dozen so I have some for my sons to give out and the extra are for St. Jude Hospital. Winter is collecting cards which she will hand deliver, so I am sending off a dozen of these little sweeties.

Smiles,
Julie

Locked Valentine Favor Box

Hello again - this is my second post for the day! This is a Valentine's Box I made from the Perfect Presentation Favor Box template (purchase it HERE). It is for my husband and I am planning to fill it with one of his favorite sweet treats!
I have to be a goof and write how happy I am with how the key tags came out. It was one of those ideas that I had in my head that seemed so cute, but you never know until it gets to paper how it will turn out. With a few dimensionals underneath, the tag and key are held together by the chain!
I am combining challenges again!
First, I saw the Just Us Girls (JUGS) color challenge this week and loved the combo - Burgundy, Vanilla, Gray and Blush. Only problem is that I used up all my Burgundy paper so I substituted SU Rose Red.
Then I saw the Everything But the Kitchen Sink sketch challenge:Finally, The Cuttlebug Spot's challenge is to create a favor box!
Everything just came together once I pulled out Practicing Creativity's Key to My Heart stamp set. This is Courtney's first set and you can purchase it HERE. I have to say that the acrylic stamps are of the highest quality and took ink well!
I am in Valentine's Day mode and already started making little cards for my sons to pass out. Plus I am making a few extra to send to Winter who is collecting Valentine's cards for St. Jude's - I need to get those in the mail Tuesday. I think my daughter may want to make her own...she received a Cuttlekids for Christmas and we picked up a heart die set today! I promise to share pics of any and all!
Smiles,
Julie
