Water Coloring Trio

A trio of card featuring water coloring ahead - not standard water coloring either.   Each of these was for a DTGD challenge.

On this one, I started off by white embossing the Heart Splatter background stamp.   Then I sponged pink ink on to the base.   The final step was to wet the Heart Splatter stamp with water by filling a shallow dish with water and laying a paper towel in it, then using that as an ink pad.   This technique called water stamping created the water spots.
Stamps:  Your Next Stamp Heart Splatter stamp and Lovestruck, Ink:  SU, Other:  White Embossing Powder

For the next two, I sponged ink on the card stock, then inked up the background stamp, sprayed water on the stamp and then stamped the paper. Lightly misting the stamp with water lets some of the images stay whole, while others blur.

Stamps:   Your Next Stamp Smiley Happy Critter Crew Set Two and sentiment from Party Animals, Your Next Stamp Flower Splatter Stamp Dies:  Your Next Stamp Stitched Tag Set Two dies, Stitched Rectangle Dies, and Fishtail/Banner Die Set OneInk:   SU and CS:  PTI
Stamps:   Your Next Stamp Snowfall, Dies:  MFT Butterfly dies and Your Next Stamp stitched rectangle dies, Other:  PTI Ribbon
This was my first time doing so much water coloring, but it was fun and I found myself using it more than I expected, give it a try yourself!

Julie

Thanks for the Snow

Ah a snow day!  Reason to celebrate because I have more time to play in the snow.  Although truthfully, I chose to stay inside and play with my crafting supplies and color a snowman!  That still counts as playing in "the snow", right???!!!

Ingredients:  Stamps - MFT Thanks Snow Much
Dies - YNS Whatnots Seasons (snowflake)
Ink - Memento and SU, Paper - PTI, Button - PTI

I have a huge pile of kraft paper that has been neglected lately so I decided to pull it out and add a little warmth for the white to sit on.  My card is based on the latest MFT sketch, challenge #213.  I gave the sketch a flip, but otherwise stuck very true to it!
My card is also for SCS CAS challenge 309 - snowmen!

Thanks for stopping by!
Smiles, Julie

One of a Kind

I am playing along with this week's MFT Wednesday Stamp Club sketch.  AND adding a card to the gift set that I am working on so you know there will be Cosmo Cricket paper on it...

I bought the MFT set - Paper Dolls and the coordinating die at the request of my daughter.  She is a good stamp shopper already!

More Banners

I have more cards to share today.  I am attempting to finish as many of the Outlawz 2,000 member party challenges as I can!  The deadline to enter has been extended until July 7th, so everyone has time to join in the fun.  I am sure many of you in the USA have made patriotic cards this week, why don't you check out the Outlawz forum???  It is free to join and full of inspiration and wonderful crafters (plus prizes :>) )!!!

Remember my banner card from a couple days ago?  I decided to flip it and limit the colors.  Honestly, this is such an easy card to make and since I can get stuck making masculine cards sometimes, I may just have to make more of these so that I have extra cards on hand!

This one is perfect for the Outlawz Paper Ala Mode Challenge - to create a card using your country's colors.

Now, what to do with extra banners?  How about just using a few on a card...

This one is for the Outlawz Color Challenge - Use the colors of where you are from - well, I went with Red, White and Blue for the USA.  I don't even know if my town has it's own colors!

Smiles,
Julie

Details:  Stamps - sentiment on first card - PTI, Image on second card - MFT, Sentiment on second card - Lil' Inker Designs, PP - Basic Grey (PB&J), CS - PTI and SU, Ink - SU, Die - Banner from Lil' Inker Designs, and copics.

I paired her up with a new MFT purchase - my first rolled flower die...I finally caved.  Flowers are not something I typically use on a card, but I keep see all the wonderful creations out there and well, you all sold me on it!
This one is for the Creative Card Crew - Dimension Challenge.

From Sea to Shining Sea

CAS
It is my favorite lately and there is a relatively new challenge blog called CAS-ual Fridays.  Their latest challenge is "krafts-men", to create a CAS masculine project using kraft.  That is just too cute a title for a challenge, how could I resist?

Another new stamp!  I was at my LSS with one of my sons and Smooth Sailing Flopsey was his favorite.  I of course was gravitating toward the Pure Innocence, but how could I not get the one that he liked?  I paper pieced away and then added a fun SVG wave that I found here.
Happy Fourth of July to everyone in the States.  There may not be stars on todays card, but there is red, white and blue!
Smiles,
Julie
