Today is the second Your Next Stamp challenge on Splitcoast Stampers! I am the hostess and I would love to have you stop by to say hi AND play along!!!
The second challenge is an easy one - I know it is on all our minds...SUMMER. Next Wednesday is the first day of summer, so pull out those stamps that remind you of fun in the sun and get creative. Then add your project to SCS with the keyword YNSC2 OR to make it even easier you can link up your creation on the YNS blog. You may just with a gift certificate to the YNS store. You can use any stamps you would like - although we would love to see YNS.
Did you notice, I am jumping on a trend. There is NEON on my card, well, as close to neon as I will probably ever get. My card features lots of glossy accents and bling along with the flip flops from Seasonal Icons 2 - there are 4 great summer images in this set.
That bling is perfect for Top Tip Tuesday's 78 challenge Sparkles Galore.
Check out the rest of the Challenge Team for inspiration and then join us over on SCS! We don't want you to miss the fun!!! You may just win a gift certificate to YNS!!!
PLUS if you use YNSs on your project you may just be choosen as our monthly Rockin' YNS Guest Designer. Wouldn't you love to see you name in the spotlight and win a YNS prize pack???!!! Check out all the details in the SCS forum HERE!!!
Smiles,
Julie

O"fish"ial Valentines
Are you O"fish"ially ready for Valentine's Day?
Today we finished Valentine's that one of my sons will be sharing with his pre-school class. Perfect timing for the PTI Anniversary challenge to use hearts.
I did the coloring and he helped by cranking my Cuttlebug for the diecuts and embossing. He even did some taping.
With the Valentine will be a little treat - how fun to pair it with a bag of Goldfish.
I did not forget about the girls in the class either and pulled in some pink. As my son said earlier today, "Girls like pink".
The circle image with sentiment is from the Whimsie Doodles' Valentines Messages set. If you are looking for something last minute digis are the way to go!!! The hearts on the fish were made using my copics - just use the side - so easy.
Have fun making your own Valentines!

Sweetness
Valentines
Today I am sharing another trio of cards, this time Valentines for my sons to hand out to the girls in their preschool classrooms.
After seeing a card on The Twinery blog with twine hearts I had to try making one of my own.
Plus, my twine hearts are perfect for the Outlawz CAS twine challenge.
I even had an assistant help make these. He liked squeezing Stickles onto the wings.
I then tried a trail of hearts which is a less sticky option.
A huge shoutout to Alyssa! I received an unexpected package in the mail last month filled with wonderful stamping goodies, including the Paper Smooches set I used above. Talk about sweetness!!! Thank you!!!
Smiles,
Julie

Lawn Critters
Today my daughter and I were playing with the lawn. Lawn Fawn stamps that is :>)
Yesterday, I saw on FB that there is a Lawn Fawn challenge on Latrice's blog Any Occasion. Well, it was a rainy afternoon and what better way to spend it then stamping?
I told my daughter about the contest and she wanted to make a card too. We each did some masking with the Critters in the 'Burbs set.
Here is mine...
and here is my 7 year old DD's!
She masked the tree to stamp it in both green and brown. Then she decided to color it all in. She really wanted to use my white ink, so she even stamped some clouds by turning the tree upside down. It is just a little bit hard to see white on white though. Oh what fun :>)
My card is also for the Stamp It! Cards Week Challenge on MFW...stamping is definitely the predominant element!
Have a great weekend!
Smiles,
Julie

Yay!
Add some Lawn Fawn to sketch #217 from CPS and look what you get...
Fun! I was in the mood for more cute and cheery. Plus, a little paper piecing never hurts.
Smiles,
Julie

Singing for You
Paper piecing seems to be the hot challenge right now. Today I am playing along with the Paper Piecing challenge on MFW and Yvonne Yam's guest blogger Laurel Seabrook's fussy cutting and paper piecing challenge! If you are new to paper piecing or even an experienced diva, you should pop on over to this post and check out Laurel's time saving tips (plus, join in her challenge!).
Besides the sweet paper pieced bird, I decided to do some quilting. Isn't quilting true piecing? Did you see the quilted card tutorial over on SCS? The blocks in the latest CPS sketch, #207 called out to me to quilt. Oh how I wish I could create a fabric quilt as fast as these paper ones :>)
Yay, it's almost Friday!!!
Smiles,
Julie
Details: Stamps - Harold's ABCs (Lawn Fawn) and I Love You (We R Memory Keepers), PP - Circa 1954 (Cosmo Cricket), CS - Cream & Black (PTI), Ink - Tuxedo Black (Momento), and a square punch.
P.S. How fun are Lawn Fawn stamps?!!! I created the sentiment using Harold's ABCs. I won this set from the Lawn Fawn blog and LOVE it. This is my first Alpha set where there are multiples of the letters, which makes it soooo much easier to spell out whatever you want and stamp it all at once. Now if only I could spell...I realized after I stamped Birthday that I had left off the H :>) Oh well, it was a good thing I was going for all over the place with the letters to begin with!
