The theme of the Verve July project parade is My Hero. My project celebrates "Our Hero", my husband. After the Fourth of July parade this year everyone was too tired to walk home! With a few modifications to the wagon, my husband pulled all 3 kids plus the dog home.

Scrapbook LO Challenge
This week's Little Paper Shop blog challenge is to Scrap a Page. I pulled out a few LPS sets to create this page with a pic of my daughter taken last November.
The "Behind the Scenes" set was used to stamp the polka dots with Versamark on the kraft. The flowers are from "Rose", and the sentiment is from "Everyday" - I thought the sun shining on my daughter's face in this pic just matched the quote perfectly.
Now this is not the same LO as you saw on the LPS blog...I thought I started out too CAS, so I added some ribbon, gloss and another frame around the photo. Let me know what you would have done!!! Here is the original.
Play along with us for the chance to win the digi "Jena and Hank". Head on over to the LPS blog and link up your creation to this post by Sunday May 23rd at 9 pm EST.
Thanks for stopping by!
Smiles,
Julie

Slusser is Ready for Summer Fun!
**** 2nd Post for the Day, be sure to scroll down for more eye candy and sweets! ****
Today is release day at Inktegrity. Joni is releasing 3 beach related images of Slusser, who is a cutie patootie penguin!
As soon as I saw these images it brought back memories of last summer and my son on the beach. What better time to pull out the beach pics which I ordered months ago and had sitting in an envelope? (Usually when I want to do a LO it involves a trip to the store to pick up photos!)
So here is the cutie - okay, the 2 cuties :>) Volleyball Slusser and my son Justin.
The other 2 Slusser images are just as sweet as this one. Each Slusser image comes with sentiments, although I did not use one on the LO (the title and journaling were created in MS Word).
Plus, now is the perfect time to use Slusser for a challenge...the challenge this week at Stamptacular Sunday Challenge is to use a penguin or penguin inspired colors!!!

I will be back tomorrow with another Slusser image and the Inktergrity Hump Day Inspiration Challenge sketch.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!
I actually forgot that today is St. Patty’s Day...I meant to post this LO of my 2 little leprechauns this morning. The layout is super simple, but it is the pics that I LOVE!
Sometimes you catch the sweetest moments and I smile every time I look at these pics from last Spring. At 2 ½, my sons both already know how to bug and instigate one another and their older sister, so these moments of pure love need to be preserved, LOL!
Enjoy the rest of your day and I will see you tomorrow with a fairy!
Smiles,
Julie
Details: PP - My Mind's Eye Photo Mat Blue, title computer generated, clovers made with CB kids Heart Dies, and stash brads.

Chocolate Hugs and Kisses
Happy New Year! Today we took down our Christmas tree and packed away all the decorations, so now it is on to Valentine's Day!
I am excited to share this scrapbook layout with you, because I just love the pictures and the paper and stickers are great.
The paper and stickers are from AdornIt's newest collection Lapreal. I won the collection and it is perfect for Valentine's Day and beyond. So a big thank you to Georgana . If you have not already done so, check out her blog - I have been following it since last Spring and there are always creative projects to be found!
The circle is from Verve's Thankful Accents set and it is the only stamp on the page (great stamp set too).
The pictures are of my children from last February - I did not do a planned photo session for the layout, it just all came together as I went thru the pics for the month. This layout is for the 2010 calendar that I am making for my Mom and Dad. Yes, "making" is the right word...I gave the calendar yesterday and it is officially a WIP (I only finished 3 months :>(, but fortunately have January and February done). Making a calendar for each set of Grandparents is a tradition I started 2 years ago. I love scrapbooking, but had so much fun making cards and creating gifts that I let my calendar scrapbooking slide, now I need to catch up!
Smiles,
Julie

Challenge Met
My sister and I challenged each other to complete the latest scrapbook layout challenge by ScrapnGal (of ScrapnFonts). The deadline is tomorrow and I made it :>)! Plus, I am using pictures that my sister took, so I think that is going above and beyond the challenge. If you have never heard of Scrap n Fonts before, they sell...fonts! I hate my own handwriting on scrapbook pages (I think it looks messy), so I am constantly looking for fun fonts to use instead. I also like to use Doodle Bats as digi stamps and there are a ton to choose from. Be sure to head over...there are always free fonts to be found if you want to try one out!
Now aren't they the cutest puppies???!!! Lily and Luke are my sister's and they are just as adorable IRL! This LO is going to be added to my Mom's calendar (I make a calendar every year for each set of grandparents), so I needed to keep the embellies at a minimum to avoid weighing down the page too much.
Details: Sentiment fonts - LD Slanted, LD Aloha, and LD Artsy, doodlebat - DB Mom's Hearts, SU Candy Lane DSP, CB swiss dots folder, a stash button, and some sewing.
By the way, I still need to figure out how to take better pics of LOs...any ideas are welcome!!
Enjoy your weekend!
Smiles,
Julie

Perfect Peaches
I was once again perusing the challenges over at StampTV. I focused on challenging myself to finish at least one scrapbook LO. I am so happy I looked, because the 7/14 sketch challenge is great!

With the leaves on top and grass beneath I wanted to recreate the photos from our visit to the peach orchard last year. The leaves were double stamped in Old Olive and then I also fussy cut some out of Old Olive and layered them on. I sponged the Apricot Appeal paper and buttons with Rose Red ink to make each look more like a peach. The grass on the bottom is actually a pine needle stamp.
Details: Everything is SU - Simply Seasonal (grass) and Best Blossoms (leaves) stamp sets {branch is from a really old set :>) }, Old Olive and Rose Red Ink, Old Olive, last year's green in color and Apricot Appeal CS, Apricot Appeal buttons, and the title and phrase are typed in Word with the SU Scrap Baby font.
Enjoy picking your own peaches this year - we will be back to the orchard this year!

Tag Album
I am participating in UStamp with Dawn and Friends, which started on Thursday. UStamp is an online community where SU demonstrators from around the world are sharing projects. Today's pics are the first project I made, a 6" x 6" mini album that uses tags as pages.
I made the background paper on the cover and then kept the circle theme throughout.
I love the way the "pages" open, it creates interest and also made it more complicated for me to figure out where to put my pics and journaling, LOL!
DETAILS: SU Fun with Shapes Stamp set, SU Real Red, Whisper White, Brilliant Blue and Old Olive CS, corner rounder, circle punches, buttons and ribbon.
Although this is an "album", my plan is to put it on a 12x12 sheet and add it to another album.
UStamp is going on for the rest of the month, so join in the fun. In addition to the projects, there are chats, and prizes have also been mentioned :>)

Scrapbook Recipe
No flour in this recipe :>) Yes, a scrapbook recipe. I took part in a challenge that gave a list of "ingredients": 3 photos, 3 different colors of cardstock, 2 different patterned papers, 2 buttons, 1 piece of ribbon, and 1 optional embellishment. This made me think outside my comfort zone trying to figure out how to incorporate all the pieces. I am really loving challenges, sketches, etc to jump start my projects!

Details:
SU paper (the designer paper is retired, but I wish SU would make it again!), Offray ribbon, SU Buttons
The photos are from Sesame Place in PA, one of our favorite places to visit. We are hoping to get there again this summer - watch out Elmo, here we come!
Thanks for looking!

Scrapping Thursday
Well, it should actually be called scrapping Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday - that is how long I have been working on this page for the Love Me Some New BasicGrey! contest on the pagemaps blog. It is based on this layout:

Here is my take..I kept switching the patterned paper, because I want the photo to be the focus, but LOVE all the beautiful patterns:
Details: [not the best photo sorry!- I will try to retake it on Saturday when the sun comes out :>)]DP - SU Raspberry Tart, Cardstock - SU, Stamp - SU, Buttons - SU, and Ribbon - Michael's $1 bin - it is the reverse side of a printed ribbon! Plus, lots of dimensionals to pop up the flower petals.
Thanks for stopping by!
Smiles,
Julie
