A Little Sketch For Today

Today is Monday and that means it is time for a new Little Paper Shop challenge.  It's a sketch this time around, which means I can use my beloved aqua mist paper as much as I want!!!

There are lots of layers in the sketch, but I kept it simple by using 2 colors.  I did add some pearls which I had to run out to my LSS to buy at the last minute.  Of course I came home with more than just pearls :>)
Link up your own take on the sketch to the Little Paper Shop blog HERE, by Sunday June 6 at 9 pm.  On the LPS blog you will have the chance to win the digi Katie Swing - it is the first digi I purchased (yep, my very first :>) )  and it is a sweet one!
Check out what the rest of the design team did for more inspiration too!  This is the last day on the DT for Bonnie and Heather so be sure to send them lots of extra lovin' this week :>)

Plus, my card has swirls on it which is the challenge this week on Oh Alice.  LPS is sponsoring this challenge too so check it out for the chance to win a $15 gift certificate to the store.
Smiles,
Julie

Sketch Girl #19

It's Sketch Girl time.  Leigh Ann has created another sketch full of squares and rectangles, no math required this time around :>)

Our sponsor for this sketch  is Sew Many Cards.
Link up your creation based on sketch #19 by June 14th at 9 pm EST to the Sketch Girl post found HERE and you will have the chance to win a fabulous prize from Sew Many Cards.

The owner of Sew Many Cards, Angela, was sweet enough to offer our design team the chance to work with an image of our choice.  I had Christmas on my mind so I went with this cutie, Morty Good Bad List.

This is a pic from when my daugter was 1.  I am so good about taking the kids to get their pictures taken professionally.  I order lots of prints and share with all.  The only problem is that I never display the pictures in my house - sad, I know.   I even bought the frames to put them in!  I guess I should make it my summer goal...get pictures up on a wall somewhere, anywhere in my house!!! ,
Visit all the other Sketch Girls to pick up some inspiration! Leigh Ann, Alyssa, Amber, Bonnie, Harriet, Jennie, Jessica, Randee, Sara and Tiffany.  Plus be sure to stop by our Guest Designer Piali too!
Have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend!

Julie

Hump Day Inspiration Sketch

The new releases continue today at Inktegrity, with two new tree images.  I went the clean and simple route for this one using the Tree Silhouette.  Along with the silhouette comes an outline image and 2 sentiments.  The silhouette is perfect for a quick card.

My card is loosely based on today's Inktegrity Hump Day Inspiration Challenge #13.  This could be lucky #13 for you!  Just play along by linking up your own creation to this image HERE for the chance to win 3 digi images of your choice.  Note that this is the last challenge until the fall - Inktegrity is taking the summer off and so is the challenge site.  Don't despair though, Joni is a sweetie and each Monday on the Inktegrity blog she will be sharing a free image!
Don't forget to head over to the Inktegrity Blog to check out the other new image, plus there may just be a giveaway to be found there!
Smiles,
Julie

The Wheels on the Bus

The Inktegrity Spring Design Team term is coming to a close at the end of this month.  What a fast 3 months!  Joni, the owner of Inktegrity is a sweetheart and I have enjoyed working with her and the design team using her fun images.
At the end of each term, Joni designs an image requested by each design team member.  Well, if you read the title of this post, then you know what I asked for!  A school bus!!!  I am sharing what should be a quick card if you do not get interrupted by two sugar crazed 2 year olds yelling Momma Elak (we were talking about last names recently)!

I like that Joni includes sentiments with each image and the bus comes with 2 circle sentiments.  These are perfect for enlarging as a I did on this card.  This may just be my first circle card!  I created the road with a white gel pen and added buttons to the wheels.  This image is perfect for a card for the bus driver or a back to school card - yeah, school is not even over, I am thinking ahead!  I also have a couple more ideas that I plan to share with you before the end of the month so stay tuned.

Head on over to the Inktegrity blog to see the other image being released today.  Hint - Slusser has a girlfriend!

Smiles,
Julie

Flower Color Challenge!

This week Little Paper Shop is challenging you with a color combo.  Light Pink, Light Blue and Kraft.  At first I was intimidated, I know, how could I be intimidated by sweet baby colors?  Well, the kraft I use all the time, but light pink and blue, yikes!  Then I was inspired by flowers.  This is also a little bit scary because, well, if you know me well, then you know that I have an inky thumb, not a green thumb!

Bumble Bee Jena is gracing the front of the paper basket I created (directions here).

Link up your own color creation to the Little Paper Shop blog HERE, by Sunday May 30th at 9 pm.

Check out what the rest of the design team did for more inspiration too!

Smiles,
Julie
Details:  Stamp - Bumble Bee Jena (LPS), PP - retired SU and So Sophie (My Mind's Eye), CS - Kraft (SU), Die - Peony (Spellbinders) and Ink - SU Chocolate Chip and Close to Cocoa, oh and just in case you were curious, the flowers are Stock.

Scrapbook LO Challenge

This week's Little Paper Shop blog challenge is to Scrap a Page.  I pulled out a few LPS sets to create this page with a pic of my daughter taken last November.

The "Behind the Scenes" set was used to stamp the polka dots with Versamark on the kraft.  The flowers are from "Rose", and the sentiment is from "Everyday" - I thought the sun shining on my daughter's face in this pic just matched the quote perfectly.

Now this is not the same LO as you saw on the LPS blog...I thought I started out too CAS, so I added some ribbon, gloss and another frame around the photo.  Let me know what you would have done!!!  Here is the original.

Play along with us for the chance to win the digi "Jena and Hank".  Head on over to the LPS blog and link up your creation to this post by Sunday May 23rd at 9 pm EST.

Thanks for stopping by!
Smiles,
Julie
Details:  Stamps - Behind the Scenes, Rose, Dream (LPS), CS - PTI and SU, Ink - Versamark and Real Red (SU), and Button - Pure Poppy (PTI).

Sketch Girl #18

Leigh Ann has done it again - another great sketch!  Along with a fabulous sponsor too!

Soft Pencil digital stamps is offering a $10 gift certificate to one random participant.  Check out her cute images by taking a peek in the store and be sure to visit the blog too.  Once you see all the adorable images you will want to play along for the chance to win.  Be sure to link up your creation based on sketch #18 to the Sketch Girl post found HERE by May 29th at 9 pm EST.

I took the butterfly image from one of the Soft Pencil scene stamps and made it larger.  I then pierced and stitched away.  To make it even easier to pierce, I printed out the sketch to fit my card and used it as a piercing template!

Head on over to the Sketch Girl blog and have fun checking out the rest of the design team's creations.  There are some super cute cards!

Smiles,
Julie

It's All About the Guys

Little Paper Shop's May release previews continue.  Today it is a great set titled "Father" for all the guys in our lives (see how fast Mother's Day is over!).  This set is full of great sentiments and singe word stamps.  Today the LPS design team is blog hopping, so be sure to check out the rest of the design team's projects.  One commenter, who leaves comments all along the hop will win a $15 gift certificate to the LPS Store!!!  You have until Wednesday at 10 pm to comment and win the certificate!  That is enough moola to pick up a fun set and still cover shipping!  If you just happened to stop by to say hi, be sure to start at the Little Paper Shop Blog and make your way back to me.  If you are coming from the talented Julie Lacey's - Stamps & Taxes blog then you are where you need to be.

I decided to challenge myself twice, the first part is making a "guy" card and the second part was combining it with this week's Little Paper Shop blog color challenge.  I guess I really challenged myself a third time, because take a look at the color challenge and in no way does it call out "guy" card to me :>)

Play along with the color challenge (you do not have to make a "guy" card) and you may just win the cute digi Katie Mushroom.  Link up your creation HERE by Sunday May 16th at 9 pm EST.

To make it all work I decided to make kraft my neutral and stamp "Dad" from the Father set over and over in all the challenge colors.  I just love the definitions for Father, Dad and Grandfather that can be found in this set.  I see scrapbook pages in my future in addition to more Father's Day cards!

Up next in the hop is the fabulous Silvia of Mabie Stampin'!

Have a great start to your week!

Smiles, Julie

Heading to the Beach with LPS

The May release preview continues and today I get to share another new Little Cutie with you.  Today is "Beach Jena" and I think she is my new cutie fave!  Besides the image of her, there are several sentiments and beach images in the set.  She will be available for purchase in the Little Paper Shop store on Tuesday, May 4th.

I was blog hopping and came across a free template for the pail and shovel from Lindsay Weirich - The Frugal Crafter.  I shrunk down the template to create a pail for Jena to sit on.  Then increased the size of the template to create this gift pouch.  Another great gift set to have on hand!

Here are a few close up pics that show the great stamps included in the set.  In addition to these, there is also a pail and a couple more sentiments.

The layout is based on this week's Mojo Monday sketch:
It is a perfect sketch to showcase all the fab scrapbook paper I found at my LSS.  72 degrees and Sunny from We R Memory Keepers.  It is the ideal paper for card makers and scrapbookers because it is double sided, with a large pattern on one side and 4 blocks with card maker size patterns on the other - pure genius.  I love my LSS, but wish they had more card sized PP in stock, this paper solves that problem.

The rest of the design team has some sunny cards to share as well.  Be sure to put on plenty of suntan lotion and grab a pina colada as you check out the Little Paper Shop Blog and the DT's blogs.  Comment away and you just may win a $10 gift certificate to the store.  That is enough to pick up a great $8 set and cover shipping!

Enjoy your Sunday and have a wonderful relaxing Mother's Day!
Smiles, Julie
Details:  Stamp - Beach Jena (LPS), CS - PTI, PP - 72 Degrees and Sunny (We R Memory Keepers), Glossy Accents and Jelly Beans (Jelly Belly).

Little Paper Shop is a Buzzin'

It's May release time and there is a new Little Cutie debuting today, Jena Bee.  She is definitely a sweetie!   She will be available for purchase in the Little Paper Shop store on Tuesday, May 4th.
I went with non-traditional colors because I found this great bee paper from Gooseberry Patch, add in some BoBunny dot paper and it was all good.

Her wings are made from acetate.  I first sanded the acetate to give it texture, then stamped and embossed.  This was the perfect technique for bee wings because you can still see thru the wings, almost like the real ones.
The layout is based on sketch #165 from CPS:

The rest of the design team has some wonderful creations to share as well.  Be sure to buzz on by and check out the Little Paper Shop Blog, then visit all the DT and leave 'em some lovin'.  One commenter will win a $10 gift certificate to the LPS Store!!!  That is enough moola to pick up a fun set and still cover shipping!

 Have a great weekend!
Smiles, Julie
Details:  Stamp - Jena Bee (LPS), CS - Black (SU), PP - Gooseberry Patch and BoBunny Dots, Buttons - Pure Poppy (PTI), Dies - Nestabilities and stash ribbon.

They're Baaaaaack!

Yep, the Inktegrity monsters are back and this time they are ready to take over your home.  They are impatient monsters, believe me, just take a look at what this one did!

Yep, I am getting a little goofy.
This card is loosely based on this week's Inktegrity Hump Day Inspiration Sketch Challenge.  I started off thinking about making a door, but then it was oh so much more fun to just let the House Monster go wild!

Check out the sketch so you can play along.  One random participant will win 3 images of their choice.  You could pick up the new monsters or grab that fave you have been eyeing (Laurel, I am writing that for you!).  Link up your creation to the Inktegrity Challenge Blog HERE.

Oh, and by the way...be sure to answer the door quickly today (heeheehee!).
Smiles,
Julie
Details:  Image - House Monster digi (Inktegrity), CS - Garden Green and Whisper White (SU), PP - K&Co., and lots of glue dots and dimensionals, plus I used a tracing wheel around the edge.

Rah!!! The Monsters are Coming, the Monsters are Coming!!!

*** Second Post for the Day, be sure to scroll on down for a fab sketch challenge from LPS ***

The latest release from Inktegrity is monsters.  It could not be a more appropriate release since I have 2 little ones who like to pretend they are monsters.  I am sharing the Little Monster Birthday image today.  This monster does not look too scary to me, 'cause he is just too cute.  The perfect image for a little boy - or girl if you make pink monsters :>)

I decided to go with the sketch #17 from Sketch Girlhttp://sketchgirlannie.blogspot.com/2010/04/sketch-17.html and multiply the image by 3!!! My sons will be turning 3 this summer so perhaps I should set this one aside.

Be sure to check out what the rest of the Inktegrity design team created, I know there are some great cards to be seen out there!!!

Smiles,
Julie

Lil' Ladybug

It's Monday, which means another fab-u-lous sketch challenge on the Little Paper Shop blogLittle Lady Katie is gracing my card today.  I loved the scene card that Julia made during release week with this little cutie, so of course I had to make one of my own.

Little Lady Katie is now a strawberry ladybug, with all this yummy Basic Grey Nook & Pantry paper.  The clouds and hills were cut out free hand and then I layered away!

Here is the sketch so you can play along (and yes, I left off the 3 buttons - amazingly, I did not have anything to match and cream was boring!).

You have until Sunday May 9th at 9 pm EST to load up your take on the sketch to the Little Paper Shop blog post HERE.  One random participant will win the Alice digi!  If you load to an on-line gallery please use the keyword LPSC66.

Be sure to check out the creations from the rest of the designers...

Happy Happy Monday (I think you need 2 on a Monday)!
Smiles,
Julie
